First, the reason I responded to you was in the hope you might learn something about forming a cogent argument. Instead, you replied by veering off into ad hominem attacks which naturally undermine your position. I'll ignore those and hope you do better in the future. Next, you did make two points, which I did not ignore. You say the core problems with US democracy are the two party system and the failure of the US media. While these appear to be problems, they actually symptoms which need to be addressed by targeting changes to the underlying problems, namely the EC. The EC has allowed the two-party system to develop its stranglehold on the political process by undermining our democracy. The popular vote would remove some of this stranglehold by doing away with the gaming of the system I described. Your second point is a generalized attack on the media which, again, is more a symptom driven by complex factors largely outside of national politics. Most importantly, no where in your response do you offer a solution. It's not enough to point to a problem, you need to offer a way to fix the problem that can actually be accomplished. Which is the point of my initial comment about tackling complex problems that don't lend themselves to simple solutions.
